Digital Marketing and Digital Community Manager Position

 Established by the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP), PeaceTech Lab (PTL) is an independent 501c3 nonprofit that works for individuals and communities affected by conflict. We aim to use technology, media, and data to scale local peacebuilding efforts. The organization supports programs all over the world and works with some of the most recognizable brands for peacebuilding.   

PTL is seeking for a highly-creative Digital Marketing and Digital Community Manager, to lead our digital marketing and social media efforts, within the Office of Communications. 

This position will be responsible for all aspects of our digital marketing and digital community operations. Your central goal is to help grow our brand’s online influence, while also increasing brand awareness.

As the Digital Marketing and Digital Community Manager, you will work, directly with the communications team to manage the daily working of the organization’s digital channels and create project related content to reach and engage, raise funds, promote events, and other general communications needs.

This position will be a full-time position to begin on November 4th, 2021. 

 

Scope of Work

 

Under the supervision of the director of the Office of Communications, the incumbent will manage Digital Marketing and Digital Communities for PTL and International Peace Honors, including, but will not be limited to:

Þ   Plan and execute all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns

Þ   Design, build and maintain our social media presence

Þ   Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)

Þ   Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights

Þ   Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies

Þ   Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests

Þ   Collaborate with communication team internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience

Þ   Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points

Þ   Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels 

Þ   Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate

Þ    Create unique, simple-to-understand, user-friendly, engaging content (including copy, graphics and video) for all digital platforms, including social media, newsletters, web, and more.

Þ    Create and manage the social media content calendar for evaluation, approval and implementation.

Þ    Help develop creative approaches to the release of content. Create paid campaigns and ads on social media platforms.

Þ    Manage the distribution of content through our various channels including social media and digital distribution list. 

Þ    Serve as a point of contact for the organization’s social media platforms.

Þ   Engage with online community and respond to comments and requests. Interact with community members and customers in a professional, personable, and timely manner to grow and keep the community alive.

Þ    Maintain consistent brand messaging throughout all platforms

Þ    Write, edit/develop website content and develop strategies that drive customers to the website

Þ    Create email blast campaigns, newsletter, announcements and other communication mediums to target key constituents and newsletter subscribers

Þ    Improve the design, content and digital experience of the website

Þ    Optimize copy and pages for search engine optimization and perform ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities. Research and implementing content recommendations for organic SEO success.

Þ    Use advanced metrics to measure the success of digital marketing efforts. Analyze KPIs and web traffic and determine the effectiveness.

Þ    Track and create weekly reports on inbound and outbound web traffic and relevant digital community metrics to determine ROI and effectiveness.

Þ    Monitor, track and report on feedback and online reviews.

Þ    Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends and latest social media trends and emerging social media platforms in the industry and implement them into daily organizational efforts.

Þ    Research key PeaceTech and current peacebuilding matters for content creation.

Þ    Respond to inquiries/email info@peacetechlab.org email in a timely manner.

 

Essential Skills and Competencies:   

·       Understanding how to build a narrative.

·       Graphic Design:  knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere), Canva.

·       Ability to manage and organize detailed assignments.

·       Willingness to take direction, as well as proactively propose ideas.

·       Have a resourceful spirit and the ability to handle unexpected and a multitude of tasks in a high-pressure environment. 

·       Must possess a high degree of professionalism and high standard of execution, mixed with a strong commitment to making the impossible possible!   

Requirements:

  • BA degree in marketing or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in digital marketing/social media management required. This is not an entry-level position.

·       Proven working experience in digital marketing and digital community management (social media, digital communications)

·       Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns

·       Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and inspire

·       Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels

·       Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments

·       Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends)

·       Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., DART, Atlas)

·       Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns

·       Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints

·       Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

·       Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

  • Great problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in photo and video editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite

·       Knowledge of web design and web development: SquareSpace, WordPress, HTML.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Ability to identify long term trends in data

·       Excellent writing, editing and verbal skills.

  • Experience working with a content management system

  • Strong project management skills

Compensation:

·       This is a full-time position.

·       Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
